Beibei Yuan got her bachelor's degree in statistics in 2013, and in 2015 she obtained her research master’s degree in Mathematics at Leiden University. She started her PhD project in October 2015. Her research focuses on a new classification tool named the delta machine, which uses the dissimilarities instead of features. This dissimilarity-based classification leads to nonlinear classification boundaries in the original feature space.
