Arindrajit Basu is an External PHD Candidate at the Leiden University Faculty of Global Governance and Affairs working on the engagement of global "swing states" with the international order in cyberspace. He also works as a Digitalisation and Human Rights Specialist Consultant with the United Nations Development Programme.

Previously, he was Research Lead at the Centre for Internet&Society where he lead research on India's cyber diplomacy and data governance strategy. He also holds an affiliation with the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace (Washington DC) as a member of its Digital Democracy Network. 

He is a lawyer by training holding a LLM in Public International Law  from the University of Cambridge and a B.A. LLB (Hons) from the  National University of Juridical Sciences, Kolkata.
