Annegeke started as a PhD researcher at CML in February 2023.
Professional Experience
Annegeke started her studies with an International Bachelor of Economics and Business Economics in 2012 at the Erasmus University of Rotterdam. Later on, in 2014, she did a bachelor in Philosophy while continuing her studies in economics. In 2017 she started her Master in International Economics. She analysed systemic risk of the European financial system for her thesis.
After her studies, Annegeke worked at the Ministry of Finance in The Hague. During the first two years, she did a traineeship and worked within four different divisions. She worked on a variety of topics related to financial markets, foreign financial affairs, government bonds and state-owned enterprises. After her Traineeship in 2020, Annegeke got a position at the division for State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs). She worked on the state-ownership in FMO and Gasunie and the development of a policy regarding responsible business conduct/ESG for all SOEs. In addition, she was secretary to a sustainability group within the Ministry with the goal to stimulate coordination and knowledge-sharing between different divisions.
Research topic
Annegeke participates in the 'WISE Horizons' project with the goal to embed Beyond-GDP thinking into the European and Global Policy agenda. She will work on the development of indicators of Wellbeing, Inclusion, Sustainability and the Economy (WISE) and investigate determinants and historical developments related to wellbeing.
