Anne Trutti is a PhD student at the Cognitive Psychology Unit, Leiden University (The Netherlands) under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Bernhard Hommel and Prof. Dr. Birte Forstmann. During her Master’s program in Brain and Cognitive Sciences at the University of Amsterdam, she worked at Birte Forstmann's lab and gained experience with high-resolution neuroimaging techniques. Anne is interested in how the brain forms behavior with respect to the role of subcortical nuclei in cognitive functioning, and how model-based neuroimaging can aid in understanding brain processes. She studies the dopaminergic systems in the brain associated with decision-making, and in particular in the structure and function of the human ventral tegmental area. In her PhD project, which is part of the ERC Meta Control project of Bernhard Hommel, she focuses on the identification meta-control style-specific brain activity utilizing structural and functional 7 Tesla MRI techniques.
