Research
Ali Shobeiri is Assistant Professor of Photography and Visual Culture at Leiden University. Formerly, he worked as a Lecturer of Cultural Studies at Radboud University of Nijmegen (2017-2019) and Instructor of Photography at Royal Academy of Art (2018). He is the author of Place: Towards a Geophilosophy of Photography (Leiden University Press, 2021), co-editor of Animation and Memory (Palgrave Macmillan, 2020), Psychosomatic Imagery: Photographic Reflections on Mental Disorders (Palgrave Macmillan, 2023), Virtual Photography: Artificial Intelligence, In-game, and Extended Reality (Transcript, 2024), and Oikography: Homemaking through Photography (forthcoming).
