Natália Kubalová is a PhD candidate at the Institute of Political Science.
Natália Kubalová is a PhD Candidate at the Institute of Political Science, researching the factors that influence decision-making in EU Governance. She completed a BSc in Political Science with a specialisation in International Relations and Organisations (2021), and a MSc in Crisis and Security Management with a specialisation in Governance of Crisis (2023) at Leiden University. Her Academic Excellence thesis titled ‘Resilient or perishable? The effects of domestic objection on the perceived legitimacy of EU knowledge authority’ was nominated for the 2024 Jan Brouwer Thesis Prize in the category Political Science and Administrative Sciences. During her research appointments at Leiden University, Natália contributed to international and interdisciplinary research on public support for armed humanitarian interventions, expert advice acceptance, perceived legitimacy of EU knowledge authorities, and exploring novel explanations for democratic backsliding.
