Jan Vonk studied Mathematics at Ghent University, Háskóli Íslands (University of Iceland) and the University of Cambridge. After, he obtained his doctorate at the University of Oxford. In the following years Jan has worked in Canada, the United Kingdom and the United States. As of 2020, he works at the Mathematical Institute. In 2022 Jan received a VIDI grant and in 2023 an ERC Starting Grant for five years. Jan is professor of Mathematics at the MI since November 2023.
