Chen started as a PhD candidate at the Industry Ecology (IE) department of Institute of Environmental Sciences (CML) in September 2019. His research focuses on offshore wind energy.
Professional experience
Chen received his MSc. on January 2019 with a major in Statistics, from Dongbei University of Finance and Economics (DUFE), China. During the period of his Master study, Chen specialized in statistical models, artificial intelligence (AI), optimization algorithms, and their applications on time series forecasting in energy and environment fields. From September 2019, Chen has joined CML to pursue his doctoral degree.
Research topic
Chen’s research topic is developing state-of-art scenarios for offshore wind energy that can guide technological development and politics. His work will focus on adequately quantifying the future material demand for offshore wind energy, and finding the related environmental impacts and potential optimization.
