Numerous studies have demonstrated that access to information and social norms such as trust in the government are crucial to the decision to be vaccinated. However, how information and social norms propagate through communities is poorly understood. Through census data collected in 10 communities in Lagos and Kano states, Nigeria, this project analyzes how the social and political networks in which individuals are embedded shape the information, social norms and role models that in turn determine their vaccination decisions.
