This research is focused on the interests of young people who participate in tailor-made programs in VET or in social enterprises to regain perspective in school and work.
Our main research questions are:
- What are the youngsters' multiple interests;
- How do these multiple interests appear in and across multiple contexts (such as home, friends, care, education and work) in which the youngsters participate;
- How do youngsters weigh these interests in relation to regaining perspective in school and work?
With a digital logbook and additional interviews, the development of interests of the youngsters is mapped out. With an environmental scan, characteristics of the counseling practices at social enterprises and ROCs are described. A resonance group consisting of different stakeholders will formulate design principles for improving tailor made programs in VET and at social enterprises on the basis of the findings so that more young people can find perspective in school and work.
