Research project
Toward Democratic Schools: The prediction of democratic interaction of stakeholders in Vietnamese secondary schools
Although many studies have addressed democracy in education around the world, so far research on democratic education in the context of communist society has been scarce. In the current study, we aim to clarify the concept of democratic value and its manifestation in Vietnam’s schools. In addition, we aim to gain more insight into how the educational democratic beliefs (EDVs) and behaviors of school managers, teachers, and students can be measured.

Social relevance
The results of this research can be a reference for those who aim to find inspiration for promoting students’ active democratic behaviors in Vietnam's schools. The findings are expected to provide insight into the educational democratic belief of various stakeholders in Vietnam’s schools, and in how these can be measured. In addition, the findings may shed light on possible differences among the stakeholders’ educational democratic belief, and how these relate to, for example, experiences with education and teaching.
