The Game of Continuity
In what way can the qualities of an existing context be used as guiding and enriching principles rather than limiting factors in the process of spatial transformation?
The Game of Continuity is a PhD research project that centres on the culture of spatial planning. In what way can the qualities of an existing context be used as guiding and enriching principles rather than limiting factors in the process of spatial transformation? The Almere New Town case study examines how this city can draw on its young history in future transformations. In the study, ‘the game’ is deployed not only as a metaphor for processes of change but also as a simulation of them and a method of concept development.
