Jasmonates (JAs) are crucial plant signaling molecules that regulate defense responses against wounding, insects and necrotrophic pathogens. Changing environmental conditions triggers quick biosynthesis, perception and transduction of JAs signals. The biosynthesis of JAs is involved in a positive feedback loop. MY studies reveal that transcription factors MYC2, MYC3 and MYC4 positively regulate the JAs biosynthesis genes directly and control the expression of JAs-responsive gene ORA47 encoding a regulator of jasmonate biosynthesis in Arabidopsis thaliana. This thesis elucidates the transcriptional regulatory mechanism of JAs biosynthesis in the positive feedback loop.
