The interest shown in the topic and the wide variety of issues presented during the workshops demonstrated both the wide-ranging implications of the ‘EU’s geopolitical turn’ as well as the fact that it has gone mainstream, i.e. it is studied by a growing number of political scientists and legal scholars, including emerging scholars from both disciplines. The interest shown by legal scholars could, undoubtedly, be attributed to the numerous legal instruments generated by the recent turn to geopolitics. This edited series contains a selection of the papers examining this turn as well as some of the key instruments that by now have been dubbed the EU’s ‘geopolitical law’.
