This research focuses on initiatives aimed at establishing minimum labour standards in global supply chains through the framework of corporate social responsibility. The increasing use of supplier codes of conduct has played a pivotal role in promoting the monitoring and enforcement of these standards. However, significant challenges remain in translating corporate commitments into concrete actions, leading to persistent implementation gaps. The study addresses two key issues: the varying degrees to which corporations internalise responsibility for enforcing labour standards, and the actual translation of these written commitments into actionable measures.
