Meet our 2024 NWIB Visiting Professor: Younous Arbaoui

NVIC is delighted to host Dr. Younous Arbaoui from the Amsterdam Centre for Migration and Refugee Law of the VU University Amsterdam as our NWIB Visiting Professor during three months this Spring.

Dr. Younous Arbaoui is Assistant Professor at the Amsterdam Centre for Migration and Refugee Law of the VU University Amsterdam. His current research project focuses on the relationship between the International Convention on the Rights of Migrant Workers (ICRMW) and the Global Compact for Migration (GCM) and the impact of both instruments on migration policies in North Africa and the European Union. He is also involved, as volunteer expert, in the travaux prĂ©paratoires of General Comments of the UN Committee on Migrant Workers. Younous is editor in chief of the journal Revue Hijra Maroc and Secretary of the Migration law Clinic Amsterdam. During his research stay at the NVIC, he has been researching the cross-fertilization between the ICRMW and the GCM in Egypt. He is organising the public seminar 'Global Migration and Refugee Law in Egypt and Morocco' at NVIC on 2 June 2024.
