Current developments in EU administrative law: Melanie Fink at EIPA Maastricht
On 10 April 2025, Melanie Fink presented her current research on the interplay between EU constitutional law and the regulation of digital technologies.
EU administrative law addresses key legal and governance issues related to the functioning of the EU administration. It encompasses both substantive and procedural aspects of the implementation of EU law and provides the legal-policy framework necessary for the EU administration to operate as a multilevel system, ensuring the effective application and enforcement of EU law.
The European Institute for Public Administration (EIPA), based in Maastricht, organised a panel discussion to bring together academic experts and officials from the EU institutions to discuss recent challenges and developments in EU administrative law. The discussion explored both broad, cross-cutting issues and specific concerns, examining the opportunities and obstacles associated with the current level of EU administrative integration and the practical realities of implementing EU law.
Melanie Fink discussed her ongoing research on the interplay between EU constitutional law and the regulation of digital technologies, a part of which was recently published on Verfassungsblog: The Hidden Reach of the EU AI Act: Expanding the Scope of EU Public Power.
