How can regional organizations help save the environment? Leiden and Singapore collaboration on Green Regionalism.
On 21 and 22 November, a conference on Green Regionalism was co-organized by CompaRe and the Centre for Commercial Law in Asia of the Singapore Management University (SMU) Yong Pung How School of Law.
This workshop brought together scholars from around the globe, comparatively exploring how different regions pursue their green ambitions, and what best practices may be learned from this. The conference will lead to a special issue in the Chinese (Taiwan) Yearbook of International Law and Affairs, and kicks off a more long-term collaboration of the Europa Institute with SMU, which is one of the leading centres for comparative regional integration in Asia.

On the SMU side, the collaboration is led by Prof. P. Hsieh. On the Leiden side, the collaboration is headed by Prof. A. Cuyvers, who also heads the Leiden Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence on Comparative Regional Integration (CompaRe).
