Marie Depuydt wins Van Wersch Springboard prize
Marie Depuydt has won the Van Wersch Springboard Prize. She was awarded the prize on 28 November during the annual Fall symposium. There were seven nominees in total, but the selection committee unanimously chose Depuydt as the winner.
Impressive research in a renowned laboratory
Depuydt promoted cum laude with her dissertation titled ‘Single-cell immune profiling of atherosclerosis: from omics to therapeutics’. According to the selection committee, Depuydt's approach was innovative and there was a lot of depth in her research. Depuydt plans to use the award money to visit a famous laboratory in Heidelberg, where she can expand both her professional network and research expertise.
Van Wersch Springboard Award
The Van Wersch Springboard Award is awarded every two years to an active and talented researcher within the pharmaceutical sciences. The prize amounts to a maximum of €10,000 and aims to support pharmaceutical research. The prize is made possible with the support of a named fund at the Leiden University Fund, namely the Van Wersch Springplank Fund.
