Suzanne Kali appointed chair of FNV women’s network
On 1 September 2024, lecturer and researcher Suzanne Kali, who works at Leiden Law School’s Labour Law and Social Security department, took over from Marica Wismeijer (Athora Netherlands) as Chair of the women’s network ‘Netwerk Vrouwen FNV’. The network, which is part of the FNV trade union, focuses on promoting gender equality in the workplace and during retirement.
Netwerk Vrouwen FNV gives women a platform to share their knowledge and experiences and take action together to improve their position. In order to achieve this, activities and knowledge events are organised based on aspects of gender such as labour and pensions.
One example was the gender pension gap event that took place on 19 April 2024, organised in collaboration with Netspar, at which Suzanne Kali was a speaker. The event was attended by visitors representing the Dutch government, pension providers, trade unions and NGOs and discussed strategies to close the pension gap between men and women.
