Olga Ceran speaks at EuConst Symposium in Maastricht
Olga Ceran was a speaker at the European Constitutional Law Review (EuConst) Symposium for Young Scholars that took place in Maastricht on 18 June 2024.
Olga presented a draft paper entitled ‘Academic freedom amid the crisis of EU values: Article 13 CFR and the scope of EU intervention’. The paper analyses opportunities to utilise the existing EU rule of law tools for safeguarding academic freedom and explores potential tensions within such actions. It builds on research previously conducted as part of the AFITE project (led by Dr Vasiliki Kosta) and supported by the re:constitution mobility fellowship. The paper was discussed by Matteo Bonelli, Assistant Professor of EU Law at Maastricht University, and an Editorial Board Member of the European Constitutional Law Review.
Published by Cambridge University Press, the European Constitutional Law Review organises an annual symposium for young scholars during which selected participants present their work. In the words of the editors, ‘the aim of the symposium is to offer participants a stimulating intellectual exchange, provide detailed feedback on participants’ work by EuConst editorial board members, as well as to build an intellectual network of talented and more established scholars in the field of European constitutional law’.
