ECSL summer course on Space Law and Policy and Young Scholar's Conference 2024
One of the ECSL’s most successful activities is the ESA/ECSL Summer Course on Space Law and Policy, which is open to students in any stage of their study and a number of young professionals already working in the space industry and space-related sectors. The course is now in its 32nd year and boasts a large family of alumni across the globe. This year, it will take place between 26 August and 6 September.
The 32nd ESA/ECSL Summer Course on Space Law and Policy will be hosted by the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens on the overarching theme of Space and Sustainability.
Participants will follow a series of lectures given by academics and practical experts from international and national space institutions, as well as technical experts. Topics will generally focus on international, regional and domestic legal and policy frameworks governing space activities and applications. The main objective of the course is to spark participants’ interest in this field of law and policy, providing them with basic knowledge that they can use to build and enhance their professional career or conduct further academic research.
Participants will have the opportunity to meet highly qualified experts and learn from their experiences. They will visit the premises of companies and other entities operating in the space industry as well as intergovernmental bodies.
The course will also involve a group project in which participants will apply the theoretical knowledge they have acquired during lectures and give a presentation to a panel of judges on the final day of the course.
