Olga Ceran speaks at SCEUS Young Scholars Workshop on EU Studies
Olga Ceran was one of the speakers at the SCEUS Young Scholars Workshop on EU studies on 14 and 15 March 2024 in Salzburg (Austria).
Olga presented a draft paper entitled ‘Academic freedom amid the rule of law crisis: Article 13 CFR and the scope of EU intervention’. The paper analyses the opportunities to utilise the existing EU rule of law tools for safeguarding academic freedom and explores potential 'ways forward'. It builds on research conducted as part of the AFITE project (led by Dr Vasiliki Kosta), additionally supported by the re:constitution mobility fellowship. The paper was discussed by András Jakab, Professor of Constitutional and Administrative Law at Paris Lodron University of Salzburg.
The Salzburg Centre of European Union Studies (SCEUS) hosted this two-day workshop for early-career researchers in the fields of law and political science to create a new interdisciplinary forum in which they can present their work and exchange ideas on the past, present and future of the EU.
