The Europa Institute organises its fourth Meet the Author event
On Thursday 26 October, the Europa Institute held its fourth ‘Meet the Author’ event.
In the context of this event series external academics come to Leiden to discuss a recent publication by their hand. The event typically starts with a conversation between a member of the Europa Institute and the author, after which the floor is open for questions from the audience.
At the event of 26 October, organised by Vasiliki Kosta and Vestert Borger, the Europa Institute welcomed Vilija Vėlyvytė, Lecturer in Law at Reading University. Vėlyvytė specializes in EU and public law. Her work is concerned with federalism and the balance of powers in the EU as well as the intersection between the EU’s internal market policy and fundamental rights, especially socio-economic rights. At the Europa Institute, she engaged in a conversation with Darinka Piqani about her book Judicial Authority in EU Internal Market Law: Implications for the Balance of Competences and Powers, which was published with Hart Publishing in 2022.
