Szmulewicz speaks on territorial planning and wine tourism in Chile
The Estoril Higher Institute for Tourism and Hotel Studies (ESHTE), in partnership with the World Association of Wine Tourism (AMETUR), the International Wine Law Association (AIDV) and the European Network of Wine Cities (RECEVIN) organised, in Portugal, from 22 to 25 October 2023, a very interesting Congress 'Wine Tourism and the Law'.
The Congress brought together tourism and law experts from many countries, and was held in various locations in Portugal. Esteban Szmulewicz, PhD Candidate at the Department of Constitutional and Administrative Law, had the honour of participating at the Congress as a panelist on 24 October 2023.
His presentation focused on territorial planning and wine tourism in Chile. It analysed both the current centralised state of legislation and management of territorial planning in Chile, as well as recent developments towards a more sustainable and holistic concept of territorial planning, and much more coherence with the proper long-term development of wine tourism. Special emphasis was also given on decentralisation of tasks in this domain, as well as proper multilevel coordination.
The presentations will be published online in 2024 in the International Journal of Tourism, Travel and Hospitality Law.
