Szmulewicz presenter at Conference of the European Group for Public Administration

Between 5 and 8 September, PhD Candidate Esteban Szmulewicz attended the 45th annual Conference of the European Group for Public Administration (EGPA), which was organised in close cooperation with The Faculty of Law of the University of Zagreb and other key partners.

 The conference EGPA 2023 was ‘Steering the European Union through poly-crises storms: The Role of Public Administration’.
Esteban Szmulewicz presented a paper titled ‘Intergovernmental relations and crisis governance in non-federal countries. Reflections on the Dutch case’, at the Panel on Regional and Local Governance. This presentation forms part of his PhD research which focuses on comparing different countries' responses to crisis, looking at the Covid-19 pandemic management, in the relationship between national and subnational authorities.

Szmulewicz also acted as discussant for another paper on the same panel, and took part on numerous other panels dealing with subnational governance, as well as coordination and crisis management in public organizations.
