Rick Lawson speaks in honour of Judge Cançado Trindade
On Tuesday 23 May 2023, the International Court of Justice (ICJ), in collaboration with The Hague Academy of International Law, held an event to commemorate the life of the Brazilian jurist Antônio Augusto Cançado Trindade, who served as a Member of the Court from 2009 until his death on 29 May 2022.
After a welcome address by HE Judge Joan E. Donoghue, President of the Court, the event consisted of a series of speeches celebrating Judge Cançado Trindade’s legacy as a man and a jurist. Rick Lawson was one of the speakers.
