Honours students participate in poster presentations at Reuvensdagen
On Friday, November 22, students of the Archaeology Honours track participated in a poster presentation at the national archaeological congress 'De Reuvensdagen'. The posters were made as final assignment for the Honours Orientation Seminar, which is the introduction course for the Honours Track ‘Crossing the Borders in World Archaeology’ of the Faculty of Archaeology.
Community Archaeology
Poster topics included:
- Heritage Accessibility and Representation in a Post-Colonial Era
- The archaeological side of leprosy: A case study on St. Eustatius
- Pre-Columbian jadeite artifacts from Golden Rock, St. Eustatius
- Slavery in the Dutch Caribbean; Differences in Heritage Education between Saba and The Netherlands
- The Archaeological Outreach to the General Public
Prior to the poster presentation, the students participated in a session, organized by Maaike de Waal, about Community Archaeology in the Caribbean Netherlands, with guest speakers dr. Jay Haviser (St. Maarten) and Fred van Keulen (St. Eustatius).
