Meet the new V&A student ambassador: Merel Vangeel
“I’m determined to innovate the healthcare system to suit the needs of an ageing population.” As the student ambassador, Merel Vangeel will be the first contact for prospective students who are curious about the Master Vitality and Ageing. She will use her own expertise of the master’s to advise new students about the programme.
About Merel
Merel is one of the international students of the 2019-2020 cohort of Vitality and Ageing. She studied the masters Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation at the University of Liège. She was motivated to study Vitality and Ageing after she started studying Physiotherapy.
“I realised that the current healthcare system is not adapted to the needs of the older patients, whereas the majority of all hospitalised patients are elderly.” Therefore, she’s determined to enhance her knowledge and skills in order to become a key player in the health management of an ageing population.
Ambassador activities
As the new student ambassador, Merel will share her enthusiasm and knowledge about Vitality and Ageing with prospective students.
