Jorrit Rijpma teaches at Summer Schools in Brussels and Kachreti (Georgia)
Jorrit Rijpma was invited to teach at a number of summer schools this year. He lectured at the CLEER summer school on External Relations, the ICPMD summer school on migration and asylum and the Odysseus summer school.
He first lectured on the external dimension of Justice and Home Affairs Cooperation at the CLEER summer school on External Relations, hosted by Maastricht University at their Brussels Campus. He focused on the trend of informalisation of instruments for asylum and migration management, which was also the theme of the recent MOSE workshop at Leiden Law School.
Rijpma continued to teach at the ICPMD summer school on migration and asylum in Kachreti (Georgia). This summer school, funded by the European Union, targeted early career professionals and talented students from Eastern Europe and Central Asia. Rijpma taught on the legal framework for international protection and conducted a number of workshops, in which students engaged with case studies on refugee protection.
A last summer school took place at the ULB in Brussels, organized by the Odysseus Network. Here Rijpma discussed recent developments in the field of EU border management, including the recent amendments to the mandate of the European Border and Coast Guard Agency.
