Erwin Muller appointed as Chairman of the Evaluation Committee for the Security Regions Act
Erwin Muller, Dean of the Faculty of Governance and Global Affairs and Professor of Safety, Security and Law, has been appointed as chairman of the Evaluation Committee for the Security Regions Act. The Council of Ministers approved the establishment of this committee last week.
The evaluation is important to gain insight into the functioning of the system as described in the Act, both with regard to the administrative and operational components. This involves the realisation of efficient and high-quality fire brigade care, medical assistance, population care and crisis management under administrative control.
The Task
The evaluation committee's task is to investigate the effectiveness and effects of the Act and underlying regulations in practice. Furthermore, their task is to examine whether the current law can be used in the light of current and future threats, social developments and developments in crisis management. The evaluation committee will publish its research report by the end of 2020.
