444 art route Humanities Matter extended due to success
Since the end of May, the Faculty of Humanities 'Humanities Matter' art route has been on display. Due to the many positive responses, we have decided to postpone the end date of the exhibition from July 8 to August 28. So if you haven't walked the route yet, this is your chance!
About the exhibition
Creative students, staff and alumni took part in the Humanities Matter art competition earlier this year in honour of the University's 444th anniversary. They translated the 'Humanities Matter' concept into various works of art, which have been brought together in a walking route. This exhibition does not only show, in a creative way, what the humanities stand for, but the route also takes you to places within the faculty where you might normally never go.
Where can I find the map?
The exhibition is spread across five different locations of the faculty: P.J. Vethgebouw, Huizinga, Lipsius (Literary Café), Mathias de Vrieshof 3 and Van Wijkplaats 1 (coffee room). At every work of art you can find a map, together with a detailed description of the location of each work of art. It is also possible to download the route here.
The University celebrates 444 years: let's celebrate together!
In 2019, Leiden University celebrates it 444th anniversary. This special birthday is celebrated with several events in Leiden and the Hague. In, with and for the city. Take a look at the programme here.
