Ingrid Leijten guest professor at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg in Germany
This semester, Ingrid Leijten is appointed as a guest professor at the Friedrich Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg (FAU).
This professorship was created by the FAU in an effort to strengthen the presence of talented female scientists setting an example for female students and young academics. The professorship rotates between the different faculties, focussing on fields in which female professors are still clearly the minority.
As a guest professor, Leijten is part of the Faculty of Business, Economics and Law (Rechts- und Wirtschaftswissenschaftliche Fakultät). As part of the law school curriculum, she will be lecturing on international law (Völkerrecht II) in German from April until July. In the same period, she will teach a seminar on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights that is offered to the students of the international and interdisciplinary Master programme in Human Rights. Amongst other activities, Leijten will give a lecture on 13 June with the title ‘Fundamental Rights and Proportionality: A Broken Marriage?’ (‘Grundrechte und Verhältnismäßigkeit: eine gescheiterte Ehe?’).
An interview (in German) with Leijten that was published on the homepage of the FAU can be found here.
