City photographers create exhibition about Europe in Leiden
What does the European Union mean for people living in Leiden? As part of the Leiden European Festival, and in collaboration with the municipality of Leiden, the city photographers captured Leidenaren from 28 European member states at their favorite place in the city. The exhibition will travel along the festival and will be on display for the first time on April 2.
Portraits of 28 European citizens in Leiden
Cultural Anthropologists Christien van de Pavert, Jule Forth, Hanna Stalenhoef, Lina De Los Rios Torres, Simone de Boer, Wilke Geurds and Veronie Rouschop show the relationship between Leiden and the European Union with portraits of 28 European citizens living in Leiden. What brought them to Leiden, and what did they bring with them? By focusing on these personal stories, the role of the European Union in daily lives becomes visible.
The exhibition will be displayed on April 2 during Frans Timmermans' talk in the Marekerk. From April 3 onwards, the photographs can be seen at the town hall. On April 12 the exhibition moves to the Academy building for the Geremek event. Subsequent locations will be published as soon as possible!
