Den Ouden and Van den Brink keynote speaker on state aid in Augsburg
On Friday 23 November 2018 Professor W. (Willemien) den Ouden and Professor J.E. (Jacobine) van den Brink acted as keynote speakers at a conference entitled Private Enforcement of European Competition and State Aid Law: Current challenges and the way forward.
The conference was organized by the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence (INspiRE) of the University of Augsburg. Professor Den Ouden and Professor Van den Brink discussed the possibilities for competitors and other private parties to successfully invoke state aid law in proceedings at the administrative courts, the tax courts and the civil courts. Other speakers at the conference included Dr. Fernando Pastor-Merchante (IE University Madrid), Luca Rossi (European Commission), Professor Sebastian Unger (Ruhr University Bochum), Professor François Lichère (Jean Moulin Lyon 3 University), Professor Roberto Caranta (University of Turin), Benedetta Biancardi (University of Turin) and Professor Luis Arroyo Jiménez, (University of Castilla-La Mancha). The various contributions will be published in book form by Kluwer Law International mid-2019.
