Maarten Aalbers presented at the ESTAL Conference “State aid control: where law and economics meet”
On 6 October 2018 Maarten Aalbers presented the first findings of a research paper, he is currently co - writing with Dr. Ben Van Rompuy, at the Vrije Universiteit in Brussels.
The paper focusses on the interplay between the distinctive non-discrimination tests of state aid law and free movement law. By taking the recent decisional practice of the Commission, and the recent Netflix case, as a case study he discussed the similarities and differences between the institutional framework, the non-discrimination tests, and available justifications under article 107 and 110 TFEU.
