Registration open for LeidenGlobal Course 'Discipline & Place'
The LeidenGlobal Course ‘Discipline and Place' for ResMA and PhD students highlights the interaction of the disciplinary theory and the method with realities, representations, and issues of place, with lectures by fourteen LeidenGlobal experts. Registration is open until September 6th.
‘Discipline and Place’ is a lecture series offered to PhD and Research MA students at LeidenGlobal partner institutions in the Fall of each year. It gives them an opportunity to reflect on the foundations of the broader field of the Social Sciences and the Humanities (SSH, in European parlance) – including Archaeology and Law – and to position their own research accordingly. Ideally, students will participate in this course early on in their scholarly training, but applications by students at all stages of their research careers are welcome. The scope of the series stimulates transregional and transdisciplinary dialogue, in line with developments in scholarship worldwide.
The course convenors are Prof. dr. Gert Oostindie and dr. Elena Burgos Martinez. The course lectures take place every Tuesday and Thursday evening from September 20th until November 22nd from 17.15-18.45 hrs at Lipsius building Leiden.
ResMA and PhD students can register for the course on the LeidenGlobal website.
The deadline for applications is 12:00 PM on the 6th of September 2018.
More information can be found on the LeidenGlobal website and in the Leiden University study guide.
