Opening Beehive Student Centre in The Hague
The new student centre in The Hague, the Beehive, will be opening its doors in stages starting from 1 October. The name Beehive was chosen because it stands for connection, an individual identity, activity and belonging. This meeting place for students is dedicated to improving the living environment for students in The Hague.
Beehive
The name of the student centre had to be something that would bring together the young Hague community, and Beehive was chosen because it stands for connection, an individual identity, activity and belonging. Leiden University’s aim is to contribute to a ‘we’ feeling and to generate cross-pollination in the academic climate of The Hague. Besides a study room (Bee Quiet!) the building also houses Student Support Services, the Jobmotion employment agency and the Academic Language Centre. It will also be the location for a number of student organisations and study associations: the Leiden University Green Office, the Afro Student Organisation, AIESEC, ESN and Radio8 Radio. It also houses a range of office facilities and meeting rooms.
Fitness @ The Buzz
The Buzz – The Hague University Sports Centre (USC) - will open its doors from October.
This is the place for group lessons, cardio sessions and training, all with the latest innovative insights and equipment. Its attractive prices make this the cheapest sports centre in The Hague.
Official opening
Because not all the facilities are opening at the same time, there will be an official and festive opening in November. We will let you know as soon as a date and a definite programme have been fixed.
