Rogier Creemers receives VIDI grant
Rogier Creemers, researcher at the Van Vollenhoven Institute, received a VIDI grant from NWO. This scholarship, worth eight hundred thousand euros, will finance the project "The Smart State: Big Data, Artificial Intelligence and the Law in China”.
This project will analyse how the relationship between citizens and the state is changing as a result of the increasing use of technology in legal and administrative processes. It will also study how these processes are affected by data and cyber security issues. Rogier will carry out this project together with two PhD students at the Van Vollenhoven Institute (VVI) and the Leiden Institute for Area Studies (LIAS).
