Exhibition Archaeology&ME at Leiden Central Station
What triggers archaeology in you? Over 300 people show their answer in the travelling, pop-up exhibition ‘Archaeology&ME’, which can be visited at Leiden Central station on May 5th and 6th 2018.
Fascinating, funny, awkward and aesthetic
The exhibition consists of (mostly digital) art works of citizens from 15 European countries. They display what children and adults think is fascinating, funny, awkward or aesthetic about the past and archaeology. The art works were collected through a competition organised by the NEARCH-project, which invited the public to submit their own drawings, paintings, photos, videos and other artistic expressions.
The Dutch partner in the NEARCH project is the Faculty of Archaeology (Leiden University), so students co-produced the exhibition ‘Archaeology&ME’. The travelling exhibition was already on display in the famous Palazzo Massimo in Rome and the MECC Maastricht.
At Leiden Central Station the exhibition can be visited from 11.00 am - 16.00 pm. (admission free).
