First ever Joint docARTES and PhDArts session
PhD-programmes, specialized in artistic research, docARTES and PhDArts join forces on March 22 and 23.
First joint docARTES and PhDArts session
On March 22 and 23, 2018, the first joint docARTES and PhDArts session will take place at the ACPA in the PJ Veth building of the Leiden University. This session will gather 20 PhD researchers from both doctoral programs, coming from the domain of the visual arts and design and from music and sound, to delve into aspects of artistic research that are relevant for both strands.
Cross-pollination
We are looking forward to this first occasion of a series of events that will allow ACPA-based PhD researchers to get acquainted with notions, strategies and practices of artistic research as unfolding in different artistic areas. The hope is to foster a cross-pollination of strands that further informs a diverse community of artistic researchers based in Leiden’s Academy of Creative and Performing Arts.
Methodology in Artistic Research
One of the main topics of the session will be the discussion on the role of Methodology in Artistic Research. The session will include lectures by ACPA professors Marcel Cobussen and Janneke Wesseling, break-out sessions lead by ACPA staff and guest scholars, presentations by ACPA alumni Ruchama Noorda and Falk Hübner as well as individual presentations and groups sessions involving the PhD candidates.
