Guest Lecture on unaccompanied minors by Germa Lourens (Nidos)
On Friday 23 February 2018 from 10:00 till 12:00 the Institute of Immigration Law will host a guest lecture by Germa Lourens from the NIDOS Foundation on unaccompanied minor asylum seekers. The lecture will take place in room C0.06 of the KOG Building.
Nidos is an independent family guardian organization which fulfils the guardianship task for Unaccompanied Minor Asylum Seekers. This task is carried out by professionals who, with respect for the own cultural background of the youngster, on the basis of commitment and with specific expertise, put the interests of the individual youngster first, manage his development to independence and intervene when this development is at risk of stagnation in any way.
Germa Lourens works at the legal department at the head office of Nidos. She is an advisor for guardians at Nidos with a particular focus on minors who are confronted with the Dublin III Regulation, return and the alien unaccompanied minors policy.
