Joost Batenburg awarded ICT prize
Joost Batenburg, full professor at the Mathematical Institute and group leader Computational Imaging at the Centrum voor Wiskunde en Informatica in Amsterdam, has been awarded the prestigiuous Netherlands Prize for ICT research 2018. Batenburg receives the prize for his research on new algorithms for computer tomography. The prize consists of € 50.000, which can be used freely for research. The Netherlands prize for ICT research is awarded yearly to a researcher not older than 40 years of age, who has created a breakthrough in ICT research. The prize is awared by the ICT-research platform Nederland (IPN) in cooperation with NWO and the Koninklijke Hollandse Maatschappij der Wetenschappen.
