LERU: improve quality, impact and access to research infrastructures
European research infrastructures must become more sustainable in order to make the most of their scientific potential and thus increase European competitiveness, the League of European Research Universities (LERU) states in a report.
LERU has observed that previous EU research infrastructure strategies have given insufficient consideration to ensuring the long-term sustainability of medium-sized research infrastructures, which are typically embedded within university departments as core facilities. In the report, LERU identifies four golden standards for enhancing the competitiveness of medium-sized research infrastructures in Europe.
