Run for Peace (and support a student at LUC)
Every year, the city of The Hague and its partners organise the Peace Run. This year a mixed team of staff and students from the Faculty of Governance and Global Affairs (FGGA) will take part! The aim of the Peace Run (a 5 or 10km run linking various peace related institutions in the city) is to raise awareness about global peace.
This theme fits very well with FGGA’s focus on global challenges and governance. One of its programmes (Leiden University College The Hague) is completely dedicated to the study of global challenges, such as peace and justice. LUC is the international honours college of Leiden University, with its own residential concept and intensive and small-scale teaching. It is internationally recognized as one of the best undergraduate programmes in Europe, and students come in from all over the world. However, this concept does come with an institutional fee and the costs for living on campus.
We believe that finances should not be a barrier for studying at LUC. We therefore plan to raise money for scholarships. An average LUC scholarship is about €7,000 per student and covers the institutional fee as well as some of the campus rent. In the coming months FGGA and LUC will organize several fundraising events. The first event will be the Peace Run.
Through this website you can donate to the LUC Scholarship Fund (you do NOT register for the Peace Run through this link, but you WILL support a student at LUC!).
