Leiden hosts seventh international Survival Analysis for Junior Researchers conference
Leiden will host the seventh annual international Survival Analysis for Junior Researchers conference (SAfJR2018) on 24-26 April, 2018. This three-day event is aimed at career-young statisticians with an interest in the application and development of time-to-event analysis and related topics. The conference provides a unique opportunity for participants to present and discuss their work with peers at a similar stage in their careers in a relaxed and friendly environment.
SAfJR2018 will offer participants the opportunity to learn more about survival analysis methods. Prof. dr. Hein Putter (Leiden University Medical Center) will give a tutorial on multi-state models, and the keynote talks will be by Dr. Maja Pohar Perme (University of Ljubljana) and Dr. Birgit Lissenberg-Witte (VU University Medical Center, Amsterdam). Furthermore, participants will present their own work by giving oral and poster presentations.
All previous editions were hosted in the United Kingdom. During SAfJR2017 at Leicester University, the three delegates from Leiden proposed to organise the next edition and invited everyone to the Netherlands. Delegates will be able to experience some of the more charming parts of Leiden, as the conference takes place in De Burcht and social events include a welcome reception by the mayor of Leiden at the city hall, and dinner at the historic Waag building.
Abstracts can be submitted via the conference's website, SAfJR2018.com.
