Leiden Science Buddy Programme off to a sunny start
With a barbecue at the Scheveningen beach the Leiden Science Buddy Programme was kicked off on 7 August. In this first round, 64 new international students are paired to current students. These buddies will do their very best to make the new students feel right at home in Leiden.
More than welcome
Just a few weeks left before our new international students will arrive here in the Netherlands! To make sure they are feeling more than welcome and to help them finding their way to our faculty, department and student room, we started this year with the new Leiden Science Buddy Programme.
First connection in the Netherlands
In total 64 new international Science students are already connected with one of the 30 Leiden Science Buddies this summer. A Leiden Science Buddy is a current student of our Faculty who likes to share his or her own experiences and who is easily approachable. He or she will be a first connection in the Netherlands and can already help with different practical matters and catch up before the start of the Orientation Week Leiden and study programme.
Buddy-Q
To discuss the most FAQ’s of international students and to share tips about things-to-do in Leiden or in The Hague, the Faculty’s International Office organised a Buddy Training and Buddy-Q (barbecue) on Monday 7 August. After this sunny start at the beach, the Leiden Science Buddies were ready to connect and they are all very excited to welcome our new international students here!
