Melanie Fink at round-table discussion on the foreign policy role of EU home affairs agencies
On 26 April 2017, Melanie Fink, PhD candidate at Leiden University and the University of Vienna, participated in a round-table discussion on ‘The “agencification” of EU foreign and defence policy: what role for the EU home affairs agencies abroad?’
The round-table was jointly organised by the Institute for European Studies (IES) and the European Union Institute for Security Studies (EUISS) and took place at the premises of the IES in Brussels. It brought together practitioners, academics, and other experts to discuss the role of EU home affairs agencies, like Frontex and Europol, in the EU’s foreign and security policy. The meeting was the first in a series and aimed at identifying areas where further research is needed.
