'Law, Power and Inequality: Global Perspectives’: A Summer Honours Class like never before
In April, the Honours Class 'Law, Power and Inequality: Global Perspectives’ will start. Professor of Law & Society Maartje van der Woude has developed and coordinates this unique class which is innovative both in content and collaboration as in design.
In the interdisciplinary Honours Class the role of law in contemporary international issues, such as climate change and the 'war on terror', will be analyzed. Students will learn to recognize the importance of law regarding these topics but will also learn to be critical on restrictions imposed by the law. In addition, the question how collaboration between lawyers and social scientists could be improved in order to fuel political and public discussions will be analyzed.
