Jeanette Satink visits the Beijing Children's Legal Aid and Research Center
At the end of March Jeanette Satink visited the Beijing Children's Legal Aid and Research Center.
Founded in 1999, the Beijing Children's Legal Aid and Research Center (BCLARC) was the first Chinese NGO specializing in children's rights. Since then, BCLARC has played a leading role in promoting child welfare in China by encouraging lawyers to participate in child protection, setting up an integrated network of professionals, organizations, and governmental departments in the field of child protection, and enhancing child law research and legislation. Lawyers of BCLARC advocate children's rights in child protection cases and minors in juvenile justice cases. Jeanette gave a guest lecture about child protection law at CUPL University (Human Rights Institute), a partner faculty to Leiden Law School.
